To all our March for Water Participants.
We wish to acknowledge the global pandemic, COVID-19, and the impact it will inevitably be having on your March for Water challenge.
As I am sure you are aware, in addition to hand washing, Public Health England has encouraged social distancing to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, particularly with those at higher risk in mind. We know many of our March for Water participants had planned group walks with colleagues, friends, family or fellow students. With the government’s recent advice to avoid social gatherings with large group numbers, we recognise that your planned group walks may no longer be possible or safe to proceed with.
We also understand that during this time, you may wish to refrain from leaving your home if you’re self-isolating or are concerned about putting yourself or others at risk. You may have considered ending your participation in March for Water. For others, you may find getting your March for Water steps in, and taking the opportunity to get some fresh air, whilst following the governments advice to remain at a safe distance from others, helps you through this challenging time. At WaterAid, we would like you all to know that we support your decision either way and want to take this opportunity to thank you for participating so far in March for Water.
Thank you once again for your support and participation in March for Water. We will continue to update the March for Water website and communicate with you about the challenge unless you ask us not to.
Please do keep safe and well,
Team March for Water
